THIRST ON TAP
Everybody gets it, because every body gets it.

From IV to Oh Yeah
The idea seed for the hydration pack was planted in 1989 during the “Hotter’N Hell 100” bicycle race. In a moment of thirst-driven inspiration, Michael Eidson, an emergency medical tech and future founder of Camelbak, filled an IV bag with water, slipped it into a sock, and stuffed the crude contraption down the back of his bike jersey. At that moment—with a hose over his shoulder, its end clamped by a clothespin—hands-free hydration, and Camelbak, was born.
Quenching thirst with a simple on-the-go solution inspired by a drip? Everybody gets it, because every body gets it.
Drop Everything
Jeff Wemmer, a competitive cyclist, was so impressed by this ingenious little product that he started bringing packs to races to sell them. His passion was irresistible—Camelbak had no choice but to hire him—and in 1993, Jeff set off on a road trip to help this feisty start-up gain firmer footing on some shaky, and dry, ground. Jeff visited bike shops from Florida to California, pitching our product from the back of his motorcycle. Each order Jeff faxed back to the factory got CamelBak closer to the goal: To be the number one brand in on-the-go hydration.
